Diaper Genie oh Diaper Genie....Where would be without you?!

For those of you that don't know, Samuel has had a problem with constipation almost since the day he was born. It's been an ongoing battle that has taken us from putting Karo syrup in his bottles to giving him apple and then prune juice. None of these have really worked that well for him, so yesterday Dr. Shook said to give a tsp of milk of magnesia everyday. OKAY! He got his first dose yesterday afternoon when we got home from doctor and 30 minutes later he had a very nice stinky for us. He had another before he went to bed and today he's had, well let's just say, SEVERAL. You're probably wondering...Why would she share this? Well, this is a blog for those that want to know what's going on with Samuel and today he wasn't in pain trying to make a stinky diaper. That is a major milestone in my opinion! HOORAY FOR SAMUEL!

I'm super HANDSOME!!

Nana is this a bib or a poncho?
Where do you wanna go momma?

6 Month Check Up

Samuel had his 6 month check up today and it went really well.  (Our appt was at 320 and we didn't get back to see the doc until about 440....AAHHHHH!)  Dr. Shook gave my little man an A+!  He weighed in at 23 lbs and is 29 inches long.  He is in the 93rd percentile for his height and weight.

When the doctor was doing the exam Samuel was playing with the white paper on the table.  He LOVED playing with that stuff!  It's better than the toys he has here at home!  Dr. Shook was trying to use the stethoscope (spelling?) and Samuel kept snatching it away from him.  It was quite hilarious!  My boy is no wimp!  He'll surprise you with how strong he is!  He also commented on how well he was sitting up and told us that we could give him the 2nd stage baby foods.  (Oooops!  We've been giving him those for a while now.)

Next, the nurse came in with her evil shots!  My little guy got a shot in each leg and he cried for both of them.  When she was done he got in my lap and I let him lick on a yellow sucker for a while.  He didn't really want it at first because he was crying to hard.  However, after he got a good taste of it, he was hooked!  He licked it all the way down to the stick.

I'm trying to figure out how to get my pics and videos to post.  For some reason they aren't working right now.  So, for now it's just my stories.  Sorry guys!  Until next time...Have a blessed day!

The First Official Rambling of a Rowell

I was told that I needed to start a blog to keep friends and family updated with news about our precious Samuel.  I actually opened this account before Samuel was ever born, but I never really had the patience to figure out how to use it.  I guess having him around has shown me how to have more patience...LOL  I'm not promising that I'll be updating on a regular basis.  I will try to post when there's a major milestone reached, etc.  I know there are several people out there that love our little man and want to see his many accomplishments. So, here we go!

Samuel is the light of our days!  He's an awesome baby and we are truly blessed beyond measure to be his parents.  He is right on track with all of the major developments so far.  He is currently beginning to squirm or wiggle around on his belly.  I'm looking for him to figure out how to crawl any day now!  Since I'm blessed to be able to stay at home with him, I get see all the developments.  It's exciting to see him learning new things daily!  I truly can't believe that it's been 7 months since he was born.  Time really does fly!

Samuel's most recent accomplishment is sitting up on his own without any support. He's doing a great job and momma is SUPER proud of her little man!   He has also recently started eating some 'finger foods'.  He's had small bits of cracker, banana and cheese puffs.  He LOVES the Gerber cheese puffs!  He smiles from ear to ear when he's eating them!  My baby boy has a smile that can light up the entire world. ( I know....mushy, mushy. I can't help it though!  He's my heart!)

Samuel is currently 7 months old and he is wearing 12 month sized clothes.  He's always been a big boy!  He's not really chunky though!  He's just long and large!  LOL  I guess I shouldn't be offended by people referring to him as 'chunky'.  It's just a sensitive subject with me.

We have our 6 month check-up and shots tomorrow.  (I know he's 7 months.  We got off schedule some how, some where.)  Momma's not looking forward to it, but he's been great the other times.  Hopefully he'll do great again tomorrow.  Daddy will be there with us too, which is an AWESOME thing!

I'll have to work on getting some photos posted tomorrow along with an update of what the doc has to say.  I'm going to go play with my layout now!  Have a blessed day!
